Ben-Israel obituary: In the Jan. 11 California section, the obituary of Black Hebrew leader Ben Ammi Ben-Israel said that Israel granted permanent residency to the Black Hebrews in 2002; the year was 2003. The article also said that a member of the sect who was killed by a Palestinian gunman in 2002 was serving in the Israeli military at the time of his death; he was not. In addition, a rabbi eulogized Ben-Israel at a memorial service, not at the funeral.

O.J. Simpson Heisman: In the Jan. 9 California section, an article about the recovery of USC’s Heisman trophy won by O.J. Simpson said that the trophies are presented annually by the New York Athletic Club. They were presented for many years by the Downtown Athletic Club and are now awarded by the Heisman Trophy Trust.

The Forum: In the Dec. 29 Calendar section, an article about the first year of operation for the renovated Forum arena in Inglewood identified Dana DuFine as vice president of West Coast operations for Madison Square Garden Co. She is MSG’s senior vice president of West Coast operations.
