Earthquake: 3.1 quake strikes near Big Bear Lake

A shallow magnitude 3.1 earthquake was reported Monday morning six miles from Big Bear Lake, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:51 a.m. PDT at a depth of 4.3 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was nine miles from Lake Arrowhead, nine miles from Big Bear City and 14 miles from Highland.

In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
