Magnitude 3.5 earthquake strikes near Tahoe Vista, Calif.
A shallow magnitude 3.5 earthquake was reported Wednesday afternoon two miles from Tahoe Vista, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 5:08 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 3.7 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was seven miles from Truckee, Calif., 18 miles from Carson City, Nev., 21 miles from South Lake Tahoe and 25 miles from Reno.
In the last 10 days there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
