The 18-month-old boy was taken into protective custody, along with the couple’s twin 12-year-old boys who were at the Lakeside home, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. at the Home Depot store in Poway.

Brambila “took tools out of the store in a baby stroller” and met his wife in the car, the Sheriff’s Department said. As store employees tried to stop him, he used a cigarette lighter to ignite a flammable substance from a spray can, the department said.

The couple were arrested near the store and booked into jail Sunday morning. The tools were found in the trunk, the Sheriff’s Department said.
