Join Times staff writer Bettina Boxall at 9 a.m. Tuesday for an online discussion about California’s drought emergency.
Gov. Jerry Brown last week officially declared a drought emergency, urging residents to cut water use by 20%, and directing state agencies to take steps to ease the effects of the drought on agriculture, fish and wildlife.
Brown’s declaration comes after the state’s driest year on record. Reservoir levels are dropping, and there are few signs of relief.
Boxall will discuss what the drought means for Californians, state government, agriculture and other institutions.
