San Diego police shoot man threatening people with scissors
SAN DIEGO--A San Diego police officer shot a man who was advancing on him in a threatening manner with scissors, police said Saturday.
The officer had responded to an afternoon call from shoppers in the Pacific Beach neighborhood about a man talking incoherently and waving scissors, police said.
When the man refused a command from the officer to drop the scissors and instead advanced on him, the officer fired a single round, striking the man, police said.
The man was taken to a hospital with a wound considered non life-threatening. No one else was injured in the incident.
