Body found in Hacienda Heights garage was that of 66-year-old woman
A body found by deputies in a Hacienda Heights garage was that of a 66-year-old woman, authorities said Thursday night.
The body was discovered Thursday morning by deputies who responded to the home in the 15000 block of Las Tunas Drive, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
“Family members had not heard from the victim for a few days so decided to check on her,” department officials said in a statement. “When they arrived, they noticed a strong odor emanating from the garage area.”
At that point, deputies were called to investigate.
The woman’s 44-year-old son was detained on a possible probation violation and has not been named as a suspect in his mother’s slaying, according to authorities.
