An ‘InstaMeet’ moment in the Arts District

Share

Last month, a local Instagram group called @jj_westcoast marked its one-year anniversary by convening in downtown Los Angeles’ Arts District.

The InstaMeet, a term used for live gatherings of Instagram users, allowed its members to take advantage of the area’s urban landscape -- including its old murals, streetscape bridges and abandoned trains.

During the photo op Tony Scott, one of @jj_westcoast’s co-leaders, caught his friend in this “fun and whimsical moment.”

“The silhouette created by the sunset and balloons gives the illusion that my buddy Josh is being carried away,” he said. “We have such a dynamic and talented group of instagrammers here in Los Angeles, and I wanted to capture that.”
