Ready for Hillary, the independent effort prodding former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to run for president in 2016, held events Monday in the Los Angeles area courting high-profile Hollywood backers.

“Building a historic movement like this requires resources and lots of energy,” said Michael Trujillo, a senior advisor to the super PAC. “Tonight we planted the seeds for both.”

Previous events here have raised money for the group -- one of two independent efforts focused on a potential Clinton run -- but the two on Monday were deemed informational. Still, a finance consultant for the group, David Wolf, attended both.

A luncheon was held at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, hosted by trial attorney Paul Kiesel. Among the attendees were producer and director Brett Ratner, best known for the “Rush Hour” film series and “X-Men: The Last Stand.”

Ratner is a longtime Clinton backer, having hosted a young Hollywood fundraiser that netted her $250,000 for her 2008 presidential bid, according to Variety.

In the evening, “24” executive producer and “Homeland” co-creator Howard Gordon hosted a dinner at his Pacific Palisades home. Screenwriter George Nolfi and agent Rick Rosen were among the attendees.

In October, Clinton gave her strongest indication to date that she is considering another White House bid.

“I am not going to begin to think seriously about it until sometime next year,” Clinton said during a speech to the Long Island Assn. in New York, according to Newsday. “I will think about it because it’s something on a lot of people’s minds. And it’s on my mind as well.”
