Cellphones: An article in the Nov. 12 LATExtra section about an ACLU report on cellphone policies in California public schools cited the report in saying that the East Whittier City School District could suspend or expel a student for the first offense of text messaging or taking a photo. District officials said such a punishment could be exacted only after two previous cellphone violations.

Franz Liszt: In a Critic’s Notebook called “Liszt at 200” in the Dec. 11 Arts and Books section, the 200th anniversaries of the birth of Wagner and Verdi were incorrectly described as the 150th, and the name of soprano Diana Damrau was misspelled as Danna Damrau. Also, “Harmonies Poétiques et Religieuses” was misspelled as “Harmonies Poétiques et Relgieuses.”

Boston Symphony: A Dec. 12 Calendar review of the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Dec. 10 appearance at Walt Disney Concert Hall said conductor Ludovic Morlot was making his local debut at the performance. In fact, he conducted the Los Angeles Philharmonic in Los Angeles in December 2007.

“Luck”: A review in the Dec. 12 Calendar of HBO’s sneak preview of “Luck” misidentified a jockey in the series as Goose (Jeffrey Woody Copland). The jockey was “Bug Boy” and was played by Tom Payne.

Monte Factor: A caption that appeared with the obituary of businessman and arts patron Monte Factor in the Dec. 12 LATExtra section misidentified the person in the photo with him as artist Eugenia Butler. The photo showed Factor with art gallery owner Eugenia Butler. The artist Eugenia Butler was the gallery owner’s daughter. Additionally, the photo should have been credited to Malcolm Lubliner via Craig Krull Gallery, Santa Monica.
