A 41-year-old man who was bringing food to his girlfriend’s Wilmington home was shot to death early Sunday morning, said Los Angeles police.

Jose Augusto Caceros was walking up the steps to his girlfriend’s home in the 400 block of North Gulf Avenue at 1:15 a.m. when he was approached by someone with a gun, according to police.

The suspect shot Caceros and fled, police say. He died at a hospital.
