A bank robbery suspect who committed suicide as police closed in on him near Dana Point Harbor was identified Saturday as a 53-year-old resident of Riverside.

Police said Michael Buller shot himself in the head Friday after a pursuit down the southbound Interstate 5 from a North Euclid Street Washington Mutual bank that had been robbed.

Buller was suspected in a string of 12 bank robberies that began May 11 in Yorba Linda.
