U.S. Airstrikes Kill 5 Suspected Militants

U.S. warplanes killed five suspected militants near the Pakistani border after an attack was launched on American and Afghan positions, officials said.
Insurgents fired at least eight rockets at a U.S. base in the southeastern province of Khowst and turned rockets and guns against three border posts, the American military said in a statement.
No U.S. or allied forces were hurt, it said.
