Readers’ Favorite Traffic Scenes

My favorite movie gridlock scene is from “Office Space” (1991). During the opening credits, the main character crawls down the highway while on the sidewalk next to the road an old man in a walker is moving faster and soon is far ahead of the frustrated driver.

In the movie “Crazy People” (1990) Dudley Moore is stuck in “parking-lot-like” traffic on a major bridge back east (Triborough?). So he gets out of his car and walks forward on the bridge and notices that all the drivers in front of him are on their CELL PHONES. He then reaches into the driver’s side of the first car, takes the cell phone from the driver and throws it into the river below!

“Stripes” (1981): Bill Murray causes a traffic jam when he skids his taxi sideways on a bridge and tosses the keys in the river after his customer insults him and his driving. He says, “Well, that hurts. And I don’t think I want to take that kind of abuse. And I know I’m not going to take you--or your luggage--to the airport.”
