Kids take part in Huck Finn Fishing Derby at H.B. Pier

Children sported straw hats, overalls and checkered shirts as they competed in the annual Huck Finn Fishing Derby at the Huntington Beach Pier on Saturday.

The participants, ranging in age from 4 to 15, attempted to catch the smallest and largest fish during the free event, sponsored by California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Newport Landing, Sports Chalet, Phil Friedman Outdoors and Surf City Store.

They were also judged on their Huck Finn costumes.
