With 14.9 seconds left, Marco Belinelli made a three-pointer to cut the Clippers’ lead to two, 98-96. The Spurs then fouled Jamal Crawford, who made both of his free throws to give the Clippers a four-point lead with 10.1 seconds left, 100-96. Blake Griffin went on to make a pair of free throws to close the game out.

Wrote Johnson: “The Clippers were led by JJ Redick in the 1st half and their superstars Chris Paul & Blake Griffin dominated late in the 102-96 win!”

J.J. Redick had 14 points on five-for-eight shooting in the first half, finishing with 17 in the game. Chris Paul missed each of his seven shots from the field in the first half, then went on to make seven of his final 14 shots. And Blake Griffin had 18 of his 26 points in the second half. Paul and Griffin combined for 33 points, 11 assists and 0 turnovers in the second half.

Wrote Johnson: “Doc Rivers did a masterful job of managing Blake Griffin’s minutes in the 1st half so he could have a strong 4th qtr, and he did.”

Griffin got rest early, and went on to score eight points in the fourth quarter, playing in all but one minute of it. Griffin finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds and sixth assists, the fifth game in the series that he’s had at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Wrote Johnson: “Biggups to my main man Chris Paul who helped lead his team to victory not only by scoring but with his leadership and all around game!”

Paul didn’t give up or get discouraged when his shot wasn’t falling early, and went on to make big plays down the stretch. He finished with 19 points and 15 assists.

Wrote Johnson: “Right before the big fight I will be in my hotel room in Vegas watching Game 7 between the Clippers and Spurs!”

Perhaps Jamal Crawford said it best after the Clippers’ Game 6 win, tweeting, “‘ Sky’s the limit’ (BIG)”
