Update: USC hopes to finish the regular season with momentum heading into next week’s Pac-12 Conference tournament. The Trojans took a step in that direction Thursday night when they ended a 10-game losing streak by defeating Washington State, 79-68, at Pullman, Wash. Junior guard Byron Wesley scored 31 points and had 10 rebounds as the Trojans moved into 11th place in the conference standings. Guard Julian Jacobs had seven points and nine assists for the Trojans, who trailed by nine points in the second half. Washington is coming off a 91-82 loss to UCLA, but the Huskies are more formidable than struggling Washington State. Senior guard C.J. Wilcox scored 20 points against UCLA. Freshman guard Nigel Williams-Goss scored 17 points.
