ON THE MOUND: Sergio Santos pitched a scoreless inning in relief of starter Brandon McCarthy. Left-handers Adam Liberatore and Daniel Coulombe, and hard thrower Josh Ravin also tossed a scoreless inning each. Juan Nicasio pitched two innings and was charged with a run and two hits. Nicasio struck out three.
EXTRA BASES: Prospect Darnell Sweeney exited the game in the ninth inning after hurting his shoulder in a collision with Brewers first baseman Matt Clark. Sweeney said he thought the injury was minor, as did Manager Don Mattingly. "It sounded like he should be OK," Mattingly said. … Carl Crawford, who fouled a pitch off his shin Saturday, was able to work out without any limitations. Following his scheduled day off Sunday, he is expected to be back in the lineup Monday.
