Baseball: Blake Rutherford of Chaminade named Division 1 player of the year

Outfielder Blake Rutherford of Chaminade, a first-round draft choice of the New York Yankees, has been selected the Southern Section Division 1 player of the year.

Sophomore Brandon Dieter of South Hills was named the player of the year in Division 2.

Sean Reynolds of Redondo was named the player of the year in Division 3.

Will McInerny of Laguna Beach topped players in Division 4. Branden Boissiere of Woodcrest Christian was player of the year in Division 5 and Brett Super of Sage Hill was player of the year in Division 6.

Trevor DeLaHoussaye of Academy of Academic Excellence was the top plaeyr in Division 7.
