Baseball: Local players help Chico State reach NCAA Division II World Series

Chico State is headed to the NCAA Division II World Series in Cary, N.C., and several former high school standouts from Southern California are on the team.

Ruben Padilla from Birmingham is the starting third baseman and batting .322. Ryne Clark from Palm Desert leads the team with a .330 average. Nick Baker from Palm Desert is 10-1 with a 1.78 ERA.
