Dan Haren had shoulder surgery Tuesday, only not on the one you’re thinking.

The Dodgers said Haren had arthroscopic surgery on his left, non-throwing shoulder to clean out bursitis and the AC joint (where the collarbone meets the shoulder blade). The Dodgers said the procedure took 30 minutes and was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache.

The Dodgers said Haren should be ready to start rehabbing the shoulder in about a week and ready to start spring training.

Assuming he’s there, of course.

Haren went 13-11 with a 4.02 ERA in 32 starts for the Dodgers last season, pitching enough innings to earn himself a $10-million option for 2015. He did not appear in the postseason.

Haren, 34, is expected to pick up the option, but has yet to do so. He said in September he would take some time after the season ended to talk with his family before making a final decision. He’s already earned over $70 million during his career.

“I don’t want to downplay the money,” Haren said last month. “It’s a ton of money. That said, I’ve been really lucky and I’ve pitched good and had a great career and made a lot of money. It’s really not about that anymore.”
