Update: There was the almost-daily transaction with the Ducks’ minor-league team in Syracuse. On Monday, the Ducks recalled center Mark Bell and defenseman Nate Guenin. They joined the team for practice in Phoenix on Monday afternoon. The Coyotes recalled defenseman Chris Summers from the Portland Pirates, their affiliate in the American Hockey League. Coyotes Coach Dave Tippett told reporters in Phoenix: “In our situation, we needed the [All-Star] break bad. Our group has been exhausted for a couple of weeks. I think we were in a six-week period, 28,000 miles traveled. It’s unheard of in the league. I can’t remember ever a stretch like this.”
