While the Clippers battled the Oklahoma City Thunder at Staples Center on Sunday afternoon, a number of vacationing Lakers took time to post Mother's Day messages on Twitter.

Gasol will become a free agent in July.

"Happy Mother's Day!!! Blessed to have such a great mother in my life!" wrote Jodie Meeks (@Jmeeks20), who just graduated Saturday from the University of Kentucky, five years after leaving the school for the NBA.

"Mothers make the world go 'round..." tweeted veteran guard Steve Nash (@SteveNash).

Rookie Ryan Kelly (@RyanKelly34) wrote, "Happy Mother's Day to the smartest, hardest working, and most caring woman I know, my momma. Love…"

Point guard Kendall Marshall (@KButter5) tweeted, "Love you mommy," and included a photo on Instagram.

Lakers owner/executive Jeanie Buss (@JeanieBuss) even got into the spirit of the day, while receiving greetings herself as the matriarch of the franchise.

"Happy #MothersDay to all the moms! Especially to my beautiful mom Jo Ann. Thinking of you grandmas Lois & Jessie. Love to you all xo"
