Bradley Cooper rumor: He won’t be playing Lance Armstrong (maybe)

Share

Bradley Cooper says all that talk of him playing Lance Armstrong in a movie version of the disgraced cyclist’s life is just that, talk.

“Oh my God, that’s so nuts!” he said. “I was in Manchester, doing the BBC morning show . . . I had no idea what [the interviewer] was talking about. I didn’t even know that J.J. [Abrams] has the rights, I had no idea. I don’t know anything about it.”

Last week, he told BBC News that he was interested in playing Armstrong in a movie version.

Abrams, recently announced as the person who will helm the next Star Wars movie, has the rights to the upcoming book “Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong.”

So, no Cooper as Armstrong right now. Maybe Abrams has Cooper on speed dial? At least, let’s hope for an Armstrong cameo in “The Hangover 3”, which Cooper stars in and will be released this summer.
