Galaxy forward Robbie Keane signs contract extension
The Galaxy said Wednesday it signed star forward Robbie Keane to a multiyear contract extension.
Ther terms and duration of the deal were not disclosed.
Keane and Landon Donovan are the Galaxy’s dynamic duo on offense, and the 33-year-old Keane was selected as the team’s most valuable player last season.
Keane scored 16 goals and added 11 assists -- both club highs -- in 23 games last year.
He’s tallied 34 goals and 21 assists since joining the Major League Soccer club in August 2011, and Keane helped lead the Galaxy to MLS titles in 2011 and 2012.
The Dublin, Ireland, native also has played for the Irish national team since 1998, scoring 62 goals in 131 appearances.
