Tiger Woods will play again in June, Jack Nicklaus says
Two weeks ago, Tiger Woods walked away from the Masters without specifying when he might return to the PGA Tour.
Now it seems he will play in Jack Nicklaus’ Memorial Tournament in June.
Nicklaus told reporters that Woods revealed his plans during a “long, long talk” at Augusta National.
“It’s as much conversation as I’ve ever had with Tiger,” Nicklaus said during a fundraiser at his alma mater, Ohio State. “We talked about a lot of things. It was good.”
The two men discussed family and outside projects, as well as Woods’ struggles on the course over the past few years. The former No. 1-ranked player has dealt with lingering back problems that have caused him to miss much of the past season and a half.
“I’ve said many times, he’ll be fine,” Nicklaus said.
The Memorial will begin June 4.
