Tim Tebow spent 2-1/2 hours training Monday at an Arizona community college, a hot scoop first reported by TMZ.

Since when is a professional athlete working out considered big news? Well, pretty much everything Tebow does is big news. And he’s also a big-name NFL quarterback who some people think was woefully underused as a backup for the New York Jets this season.

And that’s a pretty long workout for the off-season. Plus, there’s got to be a reason he chose to do all those sprints and drills with his personal trainer at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix.

Perhaps that reason is because it’s very close to Glendale, Ariz., where a certain NFL team with a dire need for a quarterback happens to play.

So there you have it. Tebow is working out just down the street from the Arizona Cardinals, thus a trade must be in the works. Kind of makes sense except for one thing -- is Tebow really any better than the bunch of quarterbacks (Kevin Kolb, John Skelton, Ryan Lindley and Brian Hoyer) the team trotted out this year?

But the Cardinals also are in desperate need of a head coach after firing Ken Whisenhunt more than two weeks ago. And Tebow is always praised for his leadership skills.

Hmmmmm ...
