U.S. to meet Mexico at StubHub Center in World Cup warm-up
In preparation for this year’s World Cup in Canada, the U.S. women’s national team will play 10 games over the next four months, including a May 17 friendly with Mexico at the StubHub Center and a May 10 exhibition with Ireland in San Jose.
The women begin pursuit of their first World Cup title in 16 years against Australia on June 8 in Winnipeg.
Tickets for all U.S. games, including the California friendlies in San Jose and Carson, will be announced later.
The game with Mexico will be the second-to-last of the team’s World Cup warm-up, followed only by a May 30 game with South Korea in Harrison, N.J. The schedule kicks off next month with games in France at England followed by the Algarve Cup in Portugal in March. The U.S. will play Norway, Switzerland and Ireland in group play there.
