USC experienced unexpected adversity in its first few weeks of the season.

On Saturday at Boston College, it’s in the forecast.

Weather reports call for a chance of rain. Wet conditions would be an adjustment for a team that has practiced and played in California sunshine.

“I don’t know if I necessarily welcome it,” USC Coach Steve Sarkisian said of rain. “But it would just be another piece of adversity that we can overcome and we can use in the future.”

In 2012, former coach Lane Kiffin had student managers spray water on footballs during practice to simulate anticipated wet conditions in Seattle. Later in the season, USC lost to UCLA in a downpour at the Rose Bowl.

The Trojans played in a light rain at Notre Dame in 2013. They lost, 14-10.
