USC’s Max Tuerk was the named to the watchlist for the Rimington Trophy, presented annually to college football’s top center.

Tuerk, a senior, is set to start at center for the second consecutive season. He is the most experienced player on a line that includes returning starters at every position.

Tuerk, 6-foot-6 and 285 pounds, was selected All-Pac-12 Conference in 2014. He played tackle and guard his first two seasons and has made 33 career starts.

Eight players from Pac-12 schools are among the 63 players on the Rimington watchlist.

No USC player has won the award.

USC is set to begin training camp Aug. 8 in preparation for a Sept. 5 opener against Arkansas State.
