Gwyneth Paltrow, Eva Longoria and Sheryl Crow cook up star recipes

It’s not just Mario Batali and Rachael Ray and the phalanxes of TV chefs who put out celebrity cookbooks — lots of people famous for things other than cooking like to publish their favorite recipes, popularize their diet choices and merchandise their eateries. Who can forget “George Foreman’s Big Book of Grilling, Barbecue, and Rotisserie”? Celebs are bringing us a never-ending parade of good eats, and here’s a few just recently released.

“My Father’s Daughter” by Gwyneth Paltrow: The “Country Strong” star has long been a foodie, parlaying that into a strong advocacy for haute and healthful cuisine on her lifestyle blog, Goop. Now she makes the leap with a recipe collection all her own, inspired by the “family and togetherness” she experienced with her father, the late TV producer and director Bruce Paltrow. Recipes include hearty fare such as oyster po’ boys but also guides for healthier ingredients like Vegenaise and agave. In true Paltrow fashion, she recently toasted the book release with a private NYC bash with Jay-Z, Martha Stewart and Jerry Seinfeld.

“Eva’s Kitchen” by Eva Longoria: Longoria brings to this tome the same old-school Mexican favorites featured at her joint Beso, and quite sweetly if you ask us. Sections are divided into categories like proteins, sides and salads, each accompanied by a childhood memory or contemporary anecdote. Beso’s guacamole is so close to perfection, the book might be a necessary purchase.

“If It Makes You Healthy” by Sheryl Crow: Singer-songwriter Crow brings her super-relaxed vibe to a roster of über-healthful and seasonally-conscious dishes. Co-written with chef Chuck White, the book discusses different recipes for different seasons: During her spring tour, she likes nosh such as tofu bruschetta, then in the fall when she’s writing and recording, it’s more about fried pumpkin and feta.
