Miranda Andrade is the Laguna Beach beat reporter for The Daily Pilot. In spring of 2018, she graduated from Long Beach State with a degree in journalism and women & gender studies. During her time at LBSU, Andrade served as editor in chief for the campus newspaper, the Daily 49er. She did a brief stint at the Long Beach Press Telegram after graduation as news assistant before being recruited by The Pilot. Andrade lives in Long Beach with her two dogs and two cats.
In search of civility, Laguna Beach seeks to be a World Kindness USA City

Laguna Beach City Council members voted this week to work to make the city a little kinder. They unanimously agreed Tuesday night to adopt a resolution declaring support for World Kindness USA, a nonprofit with a mission to create kinder cities and eventually a kinder world.

Laguna Beach officials agree to seek outside funds to finance sewer digester projects

There was plenty of toilet talk at Tuesday night’s city council meeting. Laguna Beach councilmembers voted against making any solid plans for a historic restoration of the sewer digester building due to the high and unstable cost, which may exceed $433,174.
