Panera Announces New Gun Policy

After the defeat of gun control legislation in the U.S. Senate, Newtown activists have instead focused on private sector advocacy - and got a win Monday when Panera announced it would adopt a gun-free policy. Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a gun control group founded in response to Newtown, announced Monday that Panera Bread CEO Ronald M. Shaich had announced "that the company will proactively ask guests at its 1,800 bakery-cafés in 40 states to leave their firearms at home."  Read more on The Courant's Politics Page.
