Trinity President Berger-Sweeney After A Year: Right Time, Right Place

Trinity College and Joanne Berger-Sweeney were both looking for a new direction when their paths crossed in 2014. Trinity had all but said goodbye to its 21st president, James F. Jones Jr., and was searching for his replacement. Berger-Sweeney, a neuroscientist by training, a college professor and then dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Tufts University in Massachusetts was hunting for just such a position. The timing for both could not have been better. Berger-Sweeney had just finished training offered by the American Council on Education for high-level female and minority college administrators interested in joining the ranks of college presidents when Trinity came calling....
