And this week, Bret Easton Ellis' Patrick Bateman joins Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn, Damon Runyon's Nathan Detroit and Gaston Leroux's Phantom of the Opera in that rarefied company of fictional literary figures so larger than life that they need to break into song.
