Sometimes a musical finds its ideal home away from home. "Fun Home," the show based on Alison Bechdel's graphic novel about growing up as a lesbian with a closeted gay funeral director father, opened off-Broadway at the Public Theater in 2013 and became one of the most acclaimed downtown sensations in recent memory.
