Looking to have its own movie awards franchise, CBS has struck a deal with Dick Clark Productions for rights to the Hollywood Film Awards, a relatively new trophy fest that has never had television exposure. Created 17 years ago by Carlos de Abreu, the Hollywood Film Awards ceremony doesn't get nearly the attention of the Oscars or Golden Globes, but it has in recent years managed to draw A-list talent.
