Pop & Hiss video premiere: Nightmare and the Cat's 'Alvarado'

The lyrical scene in Nightmare and the Cat's single "Alvarado" is a familiar one to Echo Park indie regulars. "Salvation was a light hanging in the street for the cars on Alvarado," sings frontman Django Stewart. "Spanish words advertising fast food chains / Line the dirty streets, cracking in the heat." The band's new video for the song -- premiering here on Pop & Hiss -- is a much starker scene, however. Filmed in crisp black-and-white at Capitol Studios' "1 Mic 1 Take" series, the band delivers a winsome '70s folk-rock version of the song with a rare mix of skill and intimacy. Watch it here.  Nightmare and...
