MANCHESTER, N.H. – Billionaire businessman Donald Trump made political history Tuesday, apparently winning the New Hampshire Republican primary with an unconventional brew of celebrity, voter anger, and disdain for the traditional rules of politics.
The fight for second place appeared a close race between Ohio Gov. John Kasich, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.
A roar of cheers erupted at Trump’s election-night party when CNN projected him the winner. The Associated Press and TV networks also projected a Trump victory based on exit polls and early returns.
