A United Nations school packed with people displaced by Israel's war with Palestinian militants was hit by tank shells in the Gaza Strip early Wednesday, killing at least 13 people according to local news reports. The attack happened the day after Israel unleashed some of its most intense bombardments in a three-week-old campaign against Hamas, which controls the narrow coastal enclave.
