Boys' basketball: North's guards come through in win over Bishop Montgomery

 It's time to start paying attention to Riverside North, which is officially 17-2 but hasn't lost on the court. 

The No. 11-ranked Huskies finally got their much-wanted big-time victory on Monday night in the one-day La Salle tournament, knocking off No. 5-ranked Bishop Montgomery, 64-54. And the big surprise was North's guards outplayed Bishop Montgomery's outstanding duo.

Sophomore Dikymbe Martin scored 24 points and senior Deshon Taylor had 22 points. Stephen Thompson Jr. had 21 points for Bishop Montgomery (17-2) and Justin Bibbins 15.

West Ranch defeated Taft, 71-65. Zay Doyle had 18 points and Ryan Beddeo 17. St. Francis defeated Campbell Hall, 66-61,...
