Jack Cleary sends loud, clear message as Joliet Slammers' catcher

Joliet Slammers catcher Jack Cleary has always looked at himself as an underdog. He got a last-minute offer to attend the University of Maryland. He was released this spring by the Milwaukee Brewers after two seasons in their minor-league organization. "I went home and tried to get in contact with some independent ball teams,'' Cleary said.
