The Lakers open training camp training camp in a week, after a relatively quiet September. The team officially chose not to stretch out the contract of 40-year old Steve Nash, and Coach Byron Scott announced his staff, including Mark Madsen, Paul Pressey and Jim Eyen. The Lakers were briefly linked to free-agent center Ryan Hollins, but the former UCLA Bruin signed with the Sacramento Kings. A number of former Lakers have signed on with other teams, including Earl Clark with the Memphis Grizzlies. Darius Morris is hoping to latch on with the Portland Trail Blazers.
