Celtics guard Rajon Rondo will miss the start of Boston’s season after undergoing surgery Friday to repair a broken left hand. Rondo broke his hand in a fall at home Thursday night and is now expected to be out six to eight weeks. First-round draft pick Marcus Smart out of Oklahoma State and second-year pro Phil Pressey, who started 11 games as a rookie, are projected to split the starting duties going into the season. The Celtics open the preseason on Oct. 6 against the Philadelphia 76ers. The regular season begins for Boston on Oct. 29 with a game against the Brooklyn Nets.
