Lake Tahoe-area ski resort offers 2-for-1 lift tickets this weekend

One ski resort in Reno hopes to lure skiers and snowboarders to the slopes with a 2-for-1 lift ticket offer good this weekend only.

Mt. Rose , which is near Lake Tahoe, says a snowstorm is expected this weekend. Snow depths are 6 to 8 feet, and all runs are open.

The resort has received 188 inches to 243 inches of snow this season.

Lift tickets cost $104 for adults (16 and older) and $64 for children 6 to 15 years old. So that's the price you'll pay for two lift tickets if you go this Friday through Sunday.

Twofer tickets must be used on the same day; you can buy online or at the resort.

Other things to know: The resort's base elevation is 8,260 feet; the summit is at 9,700 feet.

Mt. Rose, known to be the place for serious skiers, features 20% beginner runs, 30% intermediate runs, 40% advanced runs and 10% double-black-diamond or expert runs.
