Trafalgar’s limited-time deal takes 10% off European tours, $400 off airfare for two
Airfares from the U.S. to Europe during the popular summer months can be brutal. Tour operator Trafalgar, which turns 70 years old next year, offers travelers a chance to lock in a tour and airfare price — with discounts for those who buy early.
The deal: Trafalgar calls this its Great Escape Deal. On more than 100 European trips, you will receive a 10% early bird discount.
In addition, if you also book your airfare through Trafalgar, you’ll receive a $400 discount for two fliers. (Tours are based on double occupancy.)
When: The deal applies to selected tours between April 1 and Oct. 31. Discounted trips must be paid in full by Jan. 12.
Tested: I checked the savings on the company’s 10-day Britain and Ireland Highlights tour starting April 7. The rate is $2,025 per person (down from $2,250).
I added round-trip airfare between L.A. and London, and the price comes to $2,741 per person. There are lots of destinations to choose from in Italy, Croatia, Scandinavia, Russia and more.
