A prominent Elvis impersonator will observe the 36th anniversary of the King’s death with three mid-August concerts in Las Vegas.

Presley died August 16, 1977, at his Graceland mansion in Memphis.

Bennett competed during Elvis Week at Graceland in 2008, earning the title of Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist. He is currently portraying Presley as a member of the Chicago cast of the musical “Million Dollar Quartet.

Bennett’s “Elvis My Way” shows will take audiences on a journey through Presley’s singing career, starting with his entry into show business in the 1950s. The concert also features the powerful vocals Presley delivered during his many soldout performances at the LVH, then called the International hotel.

Tickets for Friday night’s concert at Sam’s Town cost $16.50-$22. They are available online or by calling (702) 284-7777.

The weekend of Aug. 16-18 will bring several Elvis-related activities to Sam’s Town. The Sports Grill will feature peanut butter and banana sandwiches, a Presley favorite. Guests dressed as Elvis will be able to eat free at the Firelight Buffet. And an Elvis karaoke contest will be held on Aug. 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Roxy’s bar. First prize is $1,000.

[For the record, 3:01 p.m. July 17: An earlier version of this post reported that Elvis Presley died in 1978. The singer died in 1977.]
