You’d think bullets would fly at the opening of the new Mob Museum in Las Vegas, and that’s exactly what does happen -- on TV.

The latest episode of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (10 p.m. PDT on CBS) on Wednesday night (that’s tonight, folks) was shot inside the museum at a fake opening party where, well, someone takes a shot at the city’s former Mayor Oscar Goodman, who plays himself. (Check out the trailer above.)

If you are in Vegas, Goodman and “CSI” writer Dustin Abraham will appear at a free screening of the TV show at the Plaza Hotel & Casino. The event is open to the public -- with free cocktails and appetizers while they last. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. with the screening at 10 p.m.

And about that name? Mob Museum is short for the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement. Somehow, that just doesn’t have the same ring.
