Italian-made Colnago bikes are newest perk at Mr. C Beverly Hills

Share

While other luxe hotels offer guests a spin in high-performance cars, Mr. C Beverly Hills in Los Angeles will offer its clientele a chance to grab the handlebars of high-performance bicycles.

Starting Saturday, the hotel will roll out a variety of Italian-made Colnago racing bicycles for trips around the city or out to the beach. The bikes include the company’s C60, a special edition made in honor of the company’s 60th year.

The hotel will open a Colnago Lounge and training sessions with partner and race organizer Gran Fondo Italia throughout the year. Bikes will be available to guests free on a first-come, first-served basis through September 2015.

Mr. C sponsors the Gran Fondo Italia bike ride, now in its third year. The ride starts 7 a.m. Sunday in Beverly Hills and features a 48-mile route and a 94-mile route that covers city streets and swings out into the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
Guests, however, don’t have to pedal quite so far. They can start from the 137-room hotel at 1224 Beverwil Drive and head to Santa Monica Pier (an easy seven miles along Pico Boulevard) or the beaches of Malibu (about 25 miles away, along Pacific Coast Highway).

Mr. C has an Italian pedigree of its own. It was created by Ignazio and Maggio Cipriani, fourth-generation members of the family name known for its hotels and restaurants worldwide.
