Web Buzz: LastBash.com lets groups plan travel together

Share

The Evite of group travel planning.

Name: LastBash.com

What it does: This group trip-planning platform lets you build and edit an itinerary with several users.

What’s hot: I love the dashboard. You can see who has accepted your invite and message the group. There’s even a section on how to track and split expenses among the group. However, my favorite feature is the ability to poll group members about a topic. I was able to ask family members about whether they wanted to stay in a hotel, share one vacation rental or have their own separate vacation rental — a huge time saver. No one wants to read a long email chain or call nine people to ask a simple question.

What’s not: I wanted to use LastBash to organize a multigenerational family foodie trip to Charleston, S.C., so when I went to its blog to look for tips on how to use the site or examples of good itineraries I found a lot of bachelor and bachelorette party references. Even the default to add an activity starts with Bar/Club (alphabetical listing). So if you’re planning something other than a total rager or a guys or girls getaway, give it a second chance before you get turned off. The site is still useful.
